Overtime is where time tracking usually falls apart, because it is calculated by hand from a time sheet at the end of the month. HRM Hub computes it from each closed punch, in tiers.
The engine evaluates minutes past your daily threshold, minutes past your weekly threshold anchored to the ISO week, the part of the shift that intersects your night window — wrapping across midnight correctly — weekends in the workplace's own timezone, and holidays, which take precedence over weekends. Tiers stack: one shift can be both night and weekend, each earning its own multiplier.
Every tier produces a segment tied to the punch, carrying its reason, minutes, multiplier and approval state. Ten settings control the whole engine — thresholds, the night window, five multipliers and whether approval is required at all — and segments land in a queue that filters by employee and date range and takes bulk approval.

Saturday night shift
Weekend and night tiers both apply, each at its own rate, without anyone reconstructing it from a paper sheet on the last day of the month.
A long week
Daily excess on Wednesday and weekly excess on Friday are separate segments with separate reasons, so the total is explainable line by line.
A public holiday shift
The holiday tier takes precedence over the weekend tier, so a holiday falling on a Saturday is paid as a holiday and not counted twice.
