Review Rating Calculator
How many 5-star reviews you need to reach your goal
About this tool
Your Google rating is the first thing many customers see. This calculator shows how many 5-star reviews it takes to move it to your goal, and what a single 1-star review does to it.
Your average rating is the sum of all stars divided by the number of reviews. The calculator adds 5-star reviews one by one until the average reaches your target. In plain words: the gap between your total stars and the target times your reviews, divided by the gap between 5 and the target.
Example: you have a 4.2 rating from 80 reviews and want 4.5. Your 80 reviews hold 336 stars; at 4.5 they would need 360. Each new 5-star review closes the gap by half a star, so you need 48 more 5-star reviews. One 1-star review instead takes you from 4.2 to 4.16.
The lesson: the more reviews you have, the steadier your rating - and the more effort each step up takes. Asking every happy customer, every day, is what moves the number.
